I paint in watercolor, acrylic, and mixed media. I love plein aire painting, and am most drawn to the evanescent intrigue of light and reflections. I enjoy riffing from images of people to paintings that imagine more about them, and painting imagined aspects of old and new stories.

I returned to painting after a full career as an academic physician, also raising three children. I have studied painting at the University of California Davis art department, while I was on the faculty of the School of Medicine, at the Mendocino Art Center, and at the La Romita Art school in Umbria Italy.

I have exhibited at Art at the Source – West Sonoma County’s open studios- and at galleries and wineries in Yolo and Sonoma County.
